Step8Up partners with EmployabilityUK to support 400 young people

Consulting and education company Step8Up partnered with social value charity EmployabilityUK to support National Employability Week (NEW) as it engages more than 400 young people with the world of work.

Step8Up supported the week as a delivery partner with an invitation-only workshop on personal branding, coaching learners on how to showcase their value and get noticed by employers.

Motivational speaker Harun Rabbani led the interactive session with live polls, exercises and a Q&A.

Commenting on his talk, Harun said: “After the session, I heard from attendees who said they felt more confident about presenting themselves professionally. The best feedback came in the form of time. We overran by 20 minutes because of the level of engagement and most participants stayed on.

“One key take-away I wanted to land was that a CV isn’t just a document. It’s a snapshot of your personal brand. It should reflect who you are, not just what you’ve done.”

To round off a successful week, Step8Up also attended a dinner and drinks reception – bringing together local colleges, council members and other employability pioneers.

Backed by the Skills Minister, EmployabilityUK raises aspirations, opportunities and career prospects for young people and leads UK-wide initiative National Employability Week.

Founder of EmployabilityUK Diane Vernon MBE said: “We bring together employers, educators and community leaders to bridge the gap between education and employment for our young people. Partnerships are central to the success of NEW and we’re delighted to have the support of Step8Up.

“By working together, organisations amplify their impact, share expertise, and influence policy – we want to help embed lasting change. Our partnerships ensure NEW delivers meaningful, sustainable outcomes, far beyond the week itself.”

CEO of Step8Up Jeev Sahoo said: “We’re proud to be an active partner making a difference through NEW and it’s been a true pleasure working with Diane. From young people to adult learners, there’s so much we can offer to those embarking on their job seeking journeys.”
