Southern Regional College (SRC) based in Northern Ireland creates a successful agile learning space for their students. The students have the freedom to borrow a laptop when they need it by accessing a loaned device from their newly installed LapSafe® Self-Service Laptop Loan Lockers.

In their new Armagh Campus, SRC had the chance to create a purpose build space for their student.  The “Investigation Zone” became a multifunctional area to support student learning.  Designed to be flexible enough to accommodate large groups of students for lectures or guest speakers and be easily configured to have breakout sessions of smaller groups and workshops.  It also has quiet areas for one-to-one and self-directed study.

With this innovative approach to the learning space a dynamic solution was needed for providing access to technology. Providing self-service laptop loan lockers gave the staff and students access to the technology they need whenever they need it, whilst saving on space.  Traditional PCs took up too much room and didn’t provide the flexibility that was needed.

This flexible approach to IT provision and asset management means the students can help themselves to a laptop when they need one and staff can have confidence in the safety of the devices while making the most of their new learning zone.
